Fort Benning’s Post Wide Yard Sale and Flea Market

Bargain shoppers are invited to Fort Benning’s Post-wide Yard Sale and Flea Market.

When: Saturday, September 10th

Yard Sale: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Flea Market: 8 a.m.-2 p.m.  @ Blue Field

The yard sales will be conducted across all of the post’s housing areas, to include main post, Custer Terrace, Bouton Heights, Davis Hill, Lavoie Manor, Patton Village and Upatoi Terrace.

Buyers are encouraged to park in a high sale-density area and walk the short distances from sale to sale.

There is no set route. Expect lots of traffic. Wear good walking shoes. Bring plenty of change. And remember that post speed limits are very low, 15-25 mph in most places, and using a cell phone while driving is not permitted.

The Postwide Yard Sale is conducted twice a year. Selling is restricted to post residents, but buying is open to all.

How to Access Post: Buyers will be able to access the post via I-185 and Benning Blvd. Access to the installation is still controlled through vehicle checkpoints. No vehicle access pass is required to enter the installation, although drivers and all passengers in the vehicle over the age of 17 may be asked to present identification at the access gate.

But selling at the flea market is NOT restricted to post residents. Outside vendors and “junk” sellers are welcome. For more information, go to benningmwr.com.

Any news on 2012 dates? I went last year (2011) and wanted to go this year. I hear Ft. Benning does this twice a year. Well not sure if I will be notified of any responce. May try the contact info above.
