The Columbus area community has a wide variety of organizations, groups and meetings designed to assist those dealing with everything from the aches and pains of parenting to life-threatening disease to challenging life situations. Below we’ve listed groups we believe can help you and your family.

Family Support Groups

Ft. Benning Army Wives Meetup Group

This group is specifically for Fort Benning wives to meet and socialize with others of common interests. The group offers a large variety of meetups such as coffee breaks, lunch dates, night life, playgroups, and so much more. We are a very kid-friendly group, but not all the meetings are focused solely on the little ones. Together, we can face the day-to-day struggles and triumphs of life in the military.
Chattahoochee Valley Downs Syndrome Support Group

Healing Hearts Support Group
Healing Hearts is a faith-based group providing support and resources for grieving families who have lost a baby to stillbirth or early infant death. LEAN (Listen. Educate. Nurture)

MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) is a faith-based, dynamic program designed to nurture mothers with children from infancy through kindergarten. A MOPS group is a place where moms can come — just as they are — to build friendships, receive mothering support, practical help and spiritual hope. These groups meet regularly to celebrate the joys of motherhood and to encourage each other through the challenges. Meets: Usually the 2ND & 4TH Fridays at 9:30-11:45 a.m.

MCASG provides support, education and advocacy to the loved ones of those with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). MCASG hosts monthly seminars and lunch & learns. . MCASG is also committed to raising funds to support the project Autism Hope Center (AHC), a Diagnostic/Treatment Clinic and research-based, Model Preschool Program in Columbus.

New Moms Nursing Support Group
One Baby Education Place, Main Street Village, Columbus
This informal group of mothers and babies is designed to provide information and support to breastfeeding moms. Professional lactation consultants (IBCLC or CLC) are on hand to answer questions so you can continue to provide nature’s best nutrition to your infant! Meets Every Thursday, 11:00 am – 1:00 pm. Parenting in Columbus Playgroup (PICP)

We are not your typical Moms Group! The PICP is an active group, comprised of single, married, stay-at-home and working moms, grandmas, aunts…from Columbus, Ft. Benning, Phenix City and the surrounding areas. Our Members range in ages from 19 to 56 with babies from newborns to teens. The PICP was created in order to provide a place where moms could find friendship and support while their children play together. We plan time for the children AND for the Mamas!

Teens With Autistic Siblings (TWAS)
We meet once a month at St Luke United Methodist Church. The second Tuesday, whatever the date may be, starting at 7pm. ALL are welcome. whether you are Austistic, your sibling is, or your parents are.
