The Montgomery Ballet’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream
& The Columbus Ballet’s Swan Lake Act II

The Montgomery Ballet, a professional company, will be performing the delightful story ballet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, choreographed by Elie Lazar.
This wonderful ballet, with music by Mendelssohn, will be performed by 16 professional dancers from the Montgomery Ballet. Senior Company dancers of The Columbus Ballet will also be in the production.
The Columbus Ballet will open the program with the second act of the ballet Swan Lake, which is indeed a complete ballet within itself.
The second act closely identifies with the story of the entire ballet for it is in this act that the worldly Prince Siegfried first sets eyes upon a beautiful Swan Queen by the side of the Lake. This classical ballet has become famous as a touchtone in the careers of many ballerinas. The beautiful music for Swan Lake was composed by Tchaikovsky.

Children’s Ballet classes at CSU
The Columbus Ballet Conservatory is offering several pre-ballet classes for young girls and boys this fall. Sign up your little ballerina now!

Mommy and Me (Age 3) ~ A 45-minute class of basic dance and improvisation for a mother and child together. The class incorporates easy basic dance moves along with song to build coordination, movement, imagination, and a sense of rhythm.
Pre-Ballet (Ages 6-7) ~ For children with little or no ballet training. Foot and arm positions, French terminology for basic exercises, stretching, and creative movement are covered. Discipline and class etiquette are emphasized. (45 minutes per week)
Creative Movement (Ages 4-5) ~ For the new dancer in your family. This course will teach children basic movements they learn to repeat. The course will emphasize left and right, simple patterns, how each body part moves, and will allow children to be creative within certain guidelines. Stretching and musicality will also be included. (45 minute class).
