If you have a child with special needs and you don’t mind the drive, sign them up for this new camp at the Georgia Aquarium!

For summer 2010 the Georgia Aquarium is pleased to announce a camp program for children with special needs (ages 5-8) who have been diagnosed with either high functioning autism or with mild learning disabilities.

June 7 – 11, 2010, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

This is a week-long day camp using the world’s largest aquarium to explore the aquatic realm. The curriculum and staff training was developed in partnership with the education program at the Marcus Autism Center. This summer our goal is to focus on this specific group of children in the hope that in future summers we will be able to accommodate children of all abilities. The adult to camper ratio will be 3 adults to 10 campers.

Cost: $200.00 per child. (Applications must be
postmarked by April 1, 2010.)

Questions: If you have any questions regarding programming, contact Kim Morris-Zarneke at 404-581-4193. For questions regarding registration, call 404-581-4198.
