Ages 5 – 8: CORTA is committed to growing 10U tennis by tailoring equipment and courts to a child’s size and age so they develop skills and have fun from the start. In accordance with the QuickStart format, children will work on coordination, timing, ball control, grips, and tactics on a 36 foot court with foam balls and low compression balls. A variety of fun and skill building games will be used to boost learning and enjoyment. Clinics include 6 one hour group lessons in a 3-week period.
- Ages 9 – 10: The QuickStart tennis format is about fitting tennis to kids based on age and physical size. By modifying the court dimensions, equipment (racquets and balls), net height and scoring system, kids will develop better technical and tactical skills. Our 10 and Under program for beginner player’s will involve stroke technique, footwork, strategy and consistency. Our goal will be to prepare them for the intermediate clinic. Clinics include 6 one hour group lessons in a 3-week period.
- Ages 11 – 18: This program is for player’s who are 11 year and older. All play is on a sandard court using the standard size tennis balls. Emphasis is on training in all aspects of the game including stroke, technique, footwork, strategy and consistency. At least two sessions are recommended to prepare the player for the intermediate clinics. Clinics include 6 one hour group lessons in a 3-week period.
Class sizes range from a minimum of 8 to a maximum of 12.
Corta recommends all first time players take AT LEAST two sessions of the beginner level clinics. Advancement to the intermediate clinics are determine by age and ability as determined by the tennis professionals.
