Experience the “Warmth of Warm Springs”

Bring your family and swim in the historic pools in Warms Springs, Georgia– the same pools used by President F.D. Roosevelt and other polio victims as a place for therapy!

Saturday, Sep 3, 2011 to Monday, Sep 5, 2011 @ 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Normally kept empty for preservation, the shallow pools will be filled with naturally warm spring water, with 1.5-hour swim sessions beginning at 10 a.m.

Cost: $20 adults; $12.50 ages 6 to 17; Family Package-$75 (includes admission to Roosevelt’s Little White House)

Tickets to the swim may be purchased over the phone with credit card. Space is limited to 80 participants per session. Reservations are suggested. All remaining tickets will be sold first-come, first-served, based on availability.

* Children must be ages 6 and older to participate.

Where: Warm Springs, GA (Directions from Columbus — Take Highway 27A (Manchester Expressway) northeast to Warm Springs. Proceed through the City of Warm Springs and turn left at the traffic light, continuing north on 27A. Roosevelt Warm Springs Institute for Rehabilitation is approximately 1/4 mile on the left. Driving time from Columbus: 45 minutes.)

Join the Columbus Tiger Sharks Summer League Swimming Team

The City of Columbus & the Columbus Aquatic Club have once again teamed up
to bring back the Columbus Tiger Sharks Summer League Swimming Team!  This
is a great summer activity for both veterans and newcomers alike.  Come
learn the sport of swimming from experienced coaches and swimmers from the
Columbus Hurricanes USA Swim team.  Come join us for a fun and exciting
Summer 2011 season!!

Registration: You will need to bring a copy of your birth certificate for us to register
the swimmer with the GRPA Summer Swim League (Georgia Parks & Rec).

Registration Location: Registration for the Summer Swim League will take place at the DA Turner Pool

Saturday May 21st - 9am – 11am

Saturday May 28th -10:30am – 12:30pm.

You may also register the first day of practice on May 31st from 10am- 12am at the Double
Churches Pool.  Space is limited.

Cost: The program will costs $125 for the entire summer season. This includes the
GRPA summer league registration, a t-shirt, and goggles.

Summer League Practice: Practice will start on Tuesday May 31st. Practices will be held Tuesday
- Friday. Practices will be held in two sessions.

Ages 11 & Under practice from 10am -11am

Ages 12 & up practice from 11am – 12pm.

Practice Location: Practices will be held at the Double Churches pool Facility.  This is a 10
lane, 25 yard pool.  Address is as follows:

All public pools in Muscogee County will open soon for the summer!

Pools open May 25, 2011

The Columbus Parks & Recreation’s Aquatics Program operates four public pools:

Public Swim Times:
Monday & Tuesday ~ Closed
Wednesday – Friday ~ 12pm – 6pm
Saturday & Sunday ~ 11am – 7:30pm
You may want to arrive even earlier to avoid a possibly long line!

NO food or coolers of any kind are allowed, but there is a concession available for the purchase of snacks and drinks.

NO hand stamping is done to allow patrons to leave the premises and re-enter at a later time.

POOL ADMISSION (Muscogee County residents)
11 and under = $1.00
12-17 = $2.00
18-54 = $3.00
55 & older = $2.00
Phenix City residents must add $1.00!
