Infant Swimming Resource (ISR)
is coming to Columbus!
First session starts July 26, 2010
Infant Swimming Resource lessons will begin our first session in Columbus at Chattahoochee Scuba. We are currently booking lessons between the hours of 10 – 1. ISR is the safest provider of self-rescueTM swimming lessons for children 6 months – 6 years of age. Going beyond traditional swim instruction, ISR teaches children how to survive in water.
6 to 12 months:
- Hold their breath underwater
- Rotate from a face down position to a float
- Float unassisted, rest and breathe
- Perform these self-rescue skills first in a swim diaper, then fully clothed
12 months to 6 years
- Hold their breath underwater
- Swim with their head down, using arms and legs
- Roll onto their back to float, rest, and breathe
- Resume swimming to the side of the pool
- Perform these self-rescue skills first in a swim diaper/bathing suit, then fully clothed

Liberty Bell Swimming Pool open for summer
If you live in Harris County, cool off in the historic Liberty Bell Swimming Pool at F.D.R State Park!
Open again after extensive repairs, this historic pool is one of the park’s most popular amenities. It was built by the CCC and is fed by naturally cool springs.
Located on Highway 354.

Swim the Warm Springs – Dip into the Past
Bring your family and swim in the historic pools in Warms Springs, Georgia– the same pools used by President F.D. Roosevelt and other polio victims as a place for therapy!
May 29-31, 2010 at 10:00 a.m.
Normally kept empty for preservation, the shallow pools will be filled with naturally warm spring water, with 1.5-hour swim sessions beginning at 10 a.m.
Cost: $20 adults; $12.50 ages 6 to 17; Family Package-$75 (includes admission to Roosevelt’s Little White House)
Tickets to the swim may be purchased over the phone with credit card. Space is limited to 80 participants per session. Reservations are suggested. All remaining tickets will be sold first-come, first-served, based on availability.
* Children must be ages 6 and older to participate.
Where: Warm Springs, GA (Directions from Columbus — Take Highway 27A (Manchester Expressway) northeast to Warm Springs. Proceed through the City of Warm Springs and turn left at the traffic light, continuing north on 27A. Roosevelt Warm Springs Institute for Rehabilitation is approximately 1/4 mile on the left. Driving time from Columbus: 45 minutes.)

Columbus City Pools to open!
Don’t let your children melt into puddles on the sofa. Take them swimming. All public pools in Muscogee County will open soon for the summer!

- Double Churches Pool, 2300 Double Churches Road (Note: CLOSED for summer due to expansion!)
