Being a parent is a wonderful, and often under appreciated responsibility. Our days are spent teaching and molding our children into the young men and women we hope they will become. And sometimes, we just need a night off. . . Parents Nite Out is a ministry of SeaQuest, the children’s department at Third Day Baptist Church. Our goal is to provide a safe and fun atmosphere for your children to enjoy, while giving you a few hours of much deserved rest, relaxation, and/or romance.

When – Friday, September 10th 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Where – Monkey Joe’s at 2453 Airport Thruway at The Landings

Cost - $15 per child, each additional sibling $10

What age children can attend?
We can accept infants, toddlers, and children up to twelve years old with age appropriate care for all.

Who’s watching my kid(s)?
The SeaQuest ministry team is comprised of professional educators and parents.

How do I sign up?
Due to capacity restrictions, space is limited. You are encouraged to pre-register by Sunday August 29th. To register call the church office at 706-573-9802 or visit us online at www.ThirdDayBaptist.com. Payment is due upon registration.

What if my child gets hurt?
No matter how safe we make the environment, bumps and bruises may happen. We will have a “Boo Boo Station” with a Registered Nurse on duty to administer basic first aid.

*NOTE: Only children who are pre-registered will receive a free T-shirt. Release of liability form must be completed by parent or legal guardian

Class: The Theology of Narnia

St. George’s Anglican Church presents

A class entitled “The Theology of Narnia”

Wednesdays, Sept. 8 – Oct 27, 2010, 7-8 p.m.
St. George’s Fellowship Hall
(behind St. George’s Anglican Church)
427 1st Avenue, Columbus, Georgia

We will examine concepts of God as seen in the The Chronicles of Narnia, a series of 7 fantasy novels for children written by C. S. Lewis. Narnia is a fictional place where animals talk, magic is common, and good battles evil. The first class will offer a biography on C.S. Lewis, and then each week we will discuss one book at a time, covering the 7 books.

You will need the books in the series. Handouts will be used. You should get the books and may begin reading before the class starts.

Note: This class is geared toward teens and adults. Child care is available for children ages 3 and up. For more information, please call 757-777-5006 and leave a message!

Cost: No cost for the class and handouts. You must purchase your own copies of the Narnia series. Space is limited.

St. Nicholas Church’s Lobsterfest

St. Nicholas’ Eighth Annual Lobsterfest.

Friday, September 24, 2010
6:00-10:00 p.m.

Sweet Home Plantation

Enjoy fresh 1-1/2 lb. Maine lobsters or beef tenderloin and a fantastic dinner full of fun and fellowship.

Children’s meals, a beer and wine bar, and delicious homemade desserts are available.

An exciting Cash Raffle featuring a $5,000 first prize and $1,000 second prize will be held with the winning tickets drawn the night of Lobsterfest.  You need not be present to win.  Tickets are priced at one for $30, two for $50 and 5 for $100.

This year’s Silent Auction includes vacation homes, football ticket packages, handmade jewelry, original artwork, handcrafted clothing and more!

Music will be provided by the Traditions. Come and join in!  We look forward to seeing you!

All proceeds from Lobsterfest benefit the ministries of St. Nicholas Episcopal Church.

From Interstate 185: Take exit 30 (Hopewell Church Road/Whitesville).  Head East on Hopewell Church Road and proceed 3.2 miles to Hadley Road.  Turn left and continue .4 miles to the entrance to Sweet Home.  There is a white sign indicating the driveway into the Plantation.

From Highway 27: Head west on Hwy. 354, which will become Hwy. 18.  Proceed 3 miles to a split in the road; take the left branch, which is Hopewell Church Road.  Continue approximately 4.1 miles to Hadley Road.  Turn right onto Hadley Road and drive .4 miles to the entrance to Sweet Home.  There is a white sign indicating the driveway into the Plantation.
