The Bob Barr Community Band began as a memorial tribute to Robert M. Barr, the conductor of the Jordan High School Band in Columbus, Georgia, from 1946 to 1963. Under his direction, the Jordan High School Band achieved the highest acclaim winning many state and national titles. He was a positive influence on the lives of hundreds of young people as a teacher and friend.
The band is composed mainly from amateur musicians, but also contains a multitude of professional musicians.

It is an area designed for kids and to give parents a little break while you enjoy the other festivities. Kids Fest Admission is $10 for the day or you may “Pay-By-The-Ride”;

The Miracle Riders Uptown Concert Series!
Every Friday night
April 30 – May 28, 2010
7:00-10:00 p.m.
The Uptown Friday Night Concerts return with a new theme for 2010. The Miracle Riders Uptown Concert Series is named in honor of Scott Ressmeyer’s Ride for Miracles to benefit the Children’s Miracle Network at The Medical Center. An eleven-man team effort, The Ride for Miracles is a motorcycle ride across the 48 contiguous United States.
The April 30th concert will introduce the Miracle Riders, with the May 28th show welcoming their safe return. The concerts will take place on the main stage of the 1100 block of Broadway, with the exception of the May 21st show scheduled for the 1000 block.
