First Day Hike on the Pine Mountain Trail
When: Sunday, January 1, 2012
Time: 1:15 p.m.
Join members of the Pine Mountain Trail (PMTA) for a 3.4-mile Overlook Loop hike on New Year’s Day. Meet at the Country Store Parking Lot and explore Gardens Overlook Crossing and the Chestnut Oak Trail. The PMTA will provide a shuttle at the Gardens Overlook for those who prefer a shorter 1.4-mile hike.

Located: Just off I-185 near Callaway Gardens, west of Warm Springs on Ga. Route 190, or south of Pine Mountain off U.S. Hwy. 27.

Join the FDR State Park staff for a night hike. We’ll start at sunset and end our hike under the bright stars. Plan to discover your five senses through many activities. This is an easy half mile hike.
Don’t forget to bring your own flashlight!
We’ll meet at the “No-Name Parking Lot” to begin the hike.
