Poplar Place Farm is hosting its February Horse Trails.
Feb 6-7, 2010
March 19-21, 2010
Over 200 horses are registered to participate in the following USEA/USEF recognized events:
- Dressage
- Show Jumping
- Cross Country
The public is welcome to attend; however, children must be accompanied by an adult. Concessions and restrooms will be available — open early for breakfast. Dogs are welcome, but MUST be leashed during competition. If caught loose, $25 fine.
Poplar Place Farm is 188-acre equestrian facility located approximately 15 miles north of Lowes on Georgia Highway 27 near Pine Mountain.

Come ride the beautiful trails of Harris County at Begin Again Farms, Inc. Equine Shelter’s Fall Benefit Trail Ride.
Saturday, Nov 7, 2009, 9:00am – 3:00pm
Don’t ride? Come spend the day with us, tour the farm and meet all of our beautiful equine and non-equine friends – some who are looking for their forever homes or someone to sponsor them during their stay with us! No cost to just come and visit!
WHERE: 2035 Harris Rd., Ellerslie
COST: Cost is $25 per rider/horse and includes a hamburger/hot dog plate lunch.
Begin Again Farms logo items will be available for purchase (shirts, hats, etc.), there will be various demonstrations (farrier, equine acupuncture, round penning, training, etc.) and lots of fun!

the 2nd Annual Trot for Tots
Saturday, October 10, 2009 @ 8:00 a.m.
This riding group is making a difference in our community…one hoof print at a time, because all proceeds benefit the Lee & Russell County Child Advocacy Centers. Last year they were able to raise more than $5000 and this year promises to be even bigger! So bring your horse or wagon and be a part of this 8 1/2 mile ride on the roads of Lee County…complete with police escort.
After the ride, enjoy food, drinks, door prizes and a silent auction. Cost to participate is $15 per rider or wagon and one new stuffed animal. This fee even includes a T-shirt and the meal after the ride for the first 100 riders.
Registration begins on the day at 8:00 AM
The ride out begins at 10:30 AM.

“Ride for Kids” Trail Ride
Saturday, October 3, 2009
All proceeds benefit the Good Shepherd Therapeutic Center. This 303-acre farm provides residential care to troubled adolescent boys through a unique farm-based treatment program. In addition to serving our residents, our horses are also used in a unique equestrian treatment programming for people with disabilities. The program that is open to the public. People with spinal injuries to people with Down’s Syndrome take advantage of this unique therapy.
