Experience the “Warmth of Warm Springs”

Bring your family and swim in the historic pools in Warms Springs, Georgia– the same pools used by President F.D. Roosevelt and other polio victims as a place for therapy!

September 4-6, 2010 at 10:00 a.m.

Normally kept empty for preservation, the shallow pools will be filled with naturally warm spring water, with 1.5-hour swim sessions beginning at 10 a.m.

Cost: $20 adults; $12.50 ages 6 to 17; Family Package-$75 (includes admission to Roosevelt’s Little White House)

Tickets to the swim may be purchased over the phone with credit card. Space is limited to 80 participants per session. Reservations are suggested. All remaining tickets will be sold first-come, first-served, based on availability.

* Children must be ages 6 and older to participate.

Where: Warm Springs, GA (Directions from Columbus — Take Highway 27A (Manchester Expressway) northeast to Warm Springs. Proceed through the City of Warm Springs and turn left at the traffic light, continuing north on 27A. Roosevelt Warm Springs Institute for Rehabilitation is approximately 1/4 mile on the left. Driving time from Columbus: 45 minutes.)

Spend Labor Day weekend watching the sky fill with color at Callaway Garden’s 12th Annual Sky High Hot Air Balloon Festival.

September 3-5, 2010

This festive, old-fashioned weekend is highlighted by the extraordinary vision of a balloon glow on Friday evening, and morning and evening flights on Saturday and Sunday. Between balloon launches, the days are filled with entertainment, family activities, exhibits, demonstrations, music and more.

Tuesdays-Saturdays thru July 24th

Bring your family to the Rock Ranch, LLC for a day of hands-on, educational, and entertainment filled activities.

Attractions

Activities include locomotive train rides, hay rides, pony rides, paddle boats, cane pole fishing, Slide Hill, The Farmland Petting Zoo, The Corn Box, family bicycles, The Giant Jumping Pillow, swimming in the pool, The Earthworm Station, The Cow Milking Simulator, and the Georgia Wildlife station.

Guests will also enjoy a brand new children’s playhouse village called “Tiny Town”. Also, a new concessions area that allows you to build your own sno cone with over 30 flavors to choose from!

Picnics and coolers are allowed.

No alcohol will be permitted anytime.

No pets allowed with the exception of Saturday, July 24th.

July 24: The Dog Day of Summer

The finale of Fun in the Summertime is for the whole family, even the 4-legged members! Guests are welcome to bring their dog and enjoy fun pet activities, a pet parade, and a pet beauty contest at 3 p.m.

The World Champion Frisbee Dog Team, the Georgia Irish Disc Dogs, coached by Mark Muir will perform at 12 noon and 2 p.m.

All dogs must be on a leash.

Cost: $8.00 per person/per day

$15.00 summer season pass for admission to all Summer Time dates thru July 24
