What: Let’s Get Ready for Spring: Learning How to Keep Garden Tools Solid, Sharp and Clean!
Date: Saturday, February 4
Time: Morning session 10-11:30 am, afternoon session 2-3:30 pm
Whether pruning or planting, well-maintained tools are essential for a beautiful garden. Bill Kes, UGA Master Gardener, will demonstrate proper cleaning and sharpening of gardening tools. Bring a pair of hand pruners or lopping shears and a shovel or hoe to sharpen during the class. Space is limited to 12 per class, so pre-register early.

Begin Again Farms Volunteer Work Day

Love horses? Don’t know much about them but you’re looking for a wonderful volunteer opportunity? Come meet all of our beautiful equine and non-equine friends – some who are looking for their forever homes or someone to sponsor them during their stay with us!
JOIN US for our January volunteer work day we will be putting up a new large shelter in the Big Field. We received a donation to build this – a great Christmas present for the horses at Begin Again Farms!
When: Saturday, January 14
Time: Start @ 9:00 a.m.
Where: 2035 Harris Rd., Ellerslie

Who we are: Begin Again Farms is a nonprofit organization devoted to the care and rehabilitation of abused and needy horses.
Did you know? Barn raising has been an important part of American history, from colonial times through the 18th century, and lives on, mostly in Amish and Mennonite communities. Not only did a family get a new barn, but it brought strength to the community, taught younger members new skills, and was a great social occasion.
