The Soldier’s Night Before Christmas
by Trish Holland and Christine Ford
Illustrated by John Manders

Monday, December 7 @ 10:30 AM

“‘Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the base
Only sentries were stirring–they guarded the place.
The soldiers were sleeping and snoring away
As they dreamed of ‘back home’ on good Christmas Day…”

The narrator wakes up when he hears a crash, and sees a Blackhawk helicopter giving the all clear to nine Humvees and a jeep, all loaded with gifts. Sergeant McClaus calls the drivers by name: Now, Cohen! Mendoza! Woslowski! McCord! Now, Li! Watts! Donetti! And Specialist Ford! When the caravan leaves, the sergeant calls out, HAPPY CHRISTMAS, BRAVE SOLDIERS! MAY PEACE COME TO ALL!

Come on out for a great story and a fun craft to go along with it. We will be making holiday cards to send to soldiers serving overseas!!

It’s Okay to be Different
by Todd Parr

Wednesday, October 14th @ 10:15 AM

“It’s okay to be a different color. It’s okay to dance by yourself. It’s okay to wear glasses. It’s okay to have a pet worm…It’s okay to be different!”

With his signature artistic style, featuring brightly colored, childlike figures outlined in heavy black, Parr shows readers over and over that just about anything goes. From the sensitive, “It’s okay to be adopted,” to the downright silly “It’s okay to eat macaroni and cheese in the bathtub”, kids of every shape, size, color, family makeup, and background will feel included in this gentle, witty book.

This is a great book for all ages! It has wonderful illustrations and is sure to touch the hearts of both children and parents!

Come on out for a great story and a fun craft to go along with it.
