EAA 677, Columbus Airport To Host Ford TriMotor Rides

Experience the Golden Age of Aviation. Take a ride in an 1929 Ford TriMotor!
The Chattahoochee Valley EAA Chapter 677 (EAA 677), in partnership with Columbus Airport (CSG), will host rides in the Experimental Aircraft Association’s immaculately restored 1929 Ford Tri-Motor at Columbus Airport on May 1-4, 2014.
The Ford Tri-Motor, aka the “Tin Goose,” was first built by the Ford Motor Company in the late 1920s and was the world’s first mass-produced airliner.
“This really is a great way to while supporting a great cause – exposing Chattahoochee Valley youngsters to aviation through the Young Eagles program,” said Ernie Kelly, President of EAA Chapter 677.
$5 from each TriMotor ride will benefit EAA 677’s Young Eagles program.

- Adults (purchased in advance) = $70
- Adults (walk up) = $75
- Children (17 years & younger) = $50

Passengers can book rides on the historic “Tin Goose” through a secure flight-reservation system at http://flytheford.org, EAA’s Tri-Motor tour website. Flights also may be reserved by calling 1-800-843-3612. Passengers will embark at Flightways Columbus, the general aviation fixed base operator (FBO) at Columbus Airport.
What to know if you go:
The Tri-Motor can carry up to 10 passengers at a time, and every seat has a window. Bring your camera to record and share this unique experience.

The Chattahoochee Valley Chapter 677 of the Experimental Aircraft Association is one of more than 1,000 local chapters of EAA. EAA 677 is a not-for-profit membership organization whose major activities include the monthly Young Eagles Rallies, annual support for the Thunder in the Valley Air Show, introducing adults to flying through Eagle Flights, and participating in the major national EAA events: Sun’n Fun and AirVenture.
