Hailed as the perfect musical comedy, this award-winning classic gambles with luck and love under the bright lights of Broadway. Set in Damon Runyon’s mythical New York City, Guys and Dolls is an oddball romantic comedy in which a gambler is challenged to take a cold female missionary to Havana, but they fall for each other, and the bet has a hidden motive to finance a crap game. Frank Loesser’s classic score includes a bevy of standards, among them “I’ve Never Been in Love Before,” “More I Cannot Wish You,” “Luck Be a Lady,” and “Bushel and a Peck.” Winner of the Tony and Drama Desk Award for best musical, if you’ve never seen Guys and Dolls, you owe it to yourself to check it out. If you’ve seen if before, come and see it to remind yourself of what a good show it is.
This production will feature musicians from The Joyce and Henry Schwob School of Music at CSU.
