Pioneer Day in Loachapoka

October 19

October 19, 2019
Our annual Pioneer Day (formerly Syrup Sopping) takes place in beautiful Loachapoka, AL!
Take a step back in time with demonstrations, good food, live music and a variety of vendors! Demonstrations will include making cane syrup, shelling corn, pioneer games, ice-cream making, and much more! And of course, the buildings of Pioneer Park will be open for browsing. Come out and experience slower times!

This year all vendor spaces for Arts and Crafts and for Food Booths will be moved into Pioneer Park on the north side of Alabama Highway 14. The reasons for changing the sites are many: more room, level spaces, more electricity, easier access, safer, away from the railroad tracks, etc. The syrup making, pony rides, petting zoo, and climbing wall will all be on the south side of the highway near the railroad tracks, but these are fenced areas, keeping both children and animals safe.
