Muscogee Moms® was created to provide parents and caregivers in Columbus, Georgia with a central location for family-friendly events and activities and resources. We use multiple sources to produce the largest, most comprehensive family-friendly Events Calendar in the region–making us truly Your Guide to Family Fun!

As we grow, our goals remain the same–to keep parents up-to-date on family-friendly community activities and to connect them with the wonderful family resources available in the Chattahoochee Valley.

Our Team

Charlotte Bowman ~ Founder & Editor

img_2684Charlotte is the proud mother of two boys ages 7 and 4. She is a long-time resident of Columbus. Prior to becoming a mother, she earned a B.A in English from Auburn University and worked for many years as a technical communicator in the financial industry.

As a work-at-home mom, Charlotte freelances for various publications and writes the monthly column “Her Tales of Motherhood” in her magazine.

She launched MuscogeeMoms.com in September 2008 and has watched in amazement as it has evolved into a popular online resource for local families. In December 2009, the site was incorporated and formally changed its name to Muscogee Moms, LLC.

Carol Ann Kaplan ~ Sales & Marketing

4304_78795118871_698908871_1745753_5371513_nColumbus native Carol Ann joined our team in 2010 as our Sales & Marketing director. A native of Columbus, she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Speech/Theatre from Fayetteville State University.

Prior to becoming a mother, Carol Ann’s work experience included numerous years in sales & marketing and management in the Atlanta area.

After her return to Columbus in 2001, Carol Ann founded the Parenting in Columbus Playgroup (PICP) ~ an active and diverse group comprised of single, married, stay-at-home and working women from Columbus, Ft. Benning, Phenix City and the surrounding areas. Her daughter is 6 years old.

Stephanie D. Litz ~ Contributing Writer

Born and raised in Spokane, Washington, an athletic scholarship lured Stephanie south to Jacksonville State University in Alabama. When she wasn’t on the firing range for the rifle team, Stephanie was working on her bachelor of science in education.

After graduation, Stephanie served as the Distance Learning Coordinator at Troy University-Fort Benning. This was where she got her first taste of distance education and was hooked. Stephanie also worked as a technical communicator for several years in the financial industry.

Stephanie has a Master of Liberal Studies degree with a concentration in history from Fort Hays State University in Kansas. A work-at-home mom to her 6- and 4-year old daughters, Stephanie teaches history, geography, and humanities courses online for various colleges and universities.
