NORAD tracks Santa’s sleigh on Christmas Eve
Beginning at 4:00 a.m. EST on December 24th, curious youngsters can log on to www.noradsanta.org for live updates on Santa’s annual journey to bring toys to all the boys and girls around the world.
Kids can also track Santa through Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Flickr, and TroopTube.mil. To follow Santa on any of these Web sites, type in @noradsanta into the search engine and start tracking.
Since 1955, Santa has provided his flight plan to the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD), allowing them to provide updates of his flight progress to all the little children in the world.
With improved technology over the years, NORAD tracks Santa’s journey across the globe on Christmas Eve by satellite and by SantaCams strategically placed in undisclosed locations around the globe. Also, with the help of Google Earth, they are able to track Santa in 3-D.

Swine flu vaccine to be available statewide to all
Associated Press – December 8, 2009 10:04 AM ET
ATLANTA (AP) – Health clinic officials say the swine flu vaccine will be available statewide as soon as this week.
State officials are reporting the fewest amount of deaths and hospitalizations in three months and the vaccine is now more widely available, but the virus could re-emerge as the flu season continues.
County clinics were limiting availability to “high priority groups” including children and pregnant women. The vaccine is free at county health clinics and about $20 at pharmacies and private health providers.
The federal government has allocated about 2.2 million doses to Georgia.

AP: Postal Service to resume North Pole Santa letters
By RACHEL D’ORO, Associated Press Writer Rachel D’oro
November 21, 2009
ANCHORAGE, Alaska – Wide-eyed children around the world will be hearing from Santa’s “elves” at the North Pole after all.
During Christmas seasons for decades, these dedicated elves responded to thousands of letters addressed to “Santa Claus, North Pole.”
All that was ending with a U.S. Postal Service decision to discontinue the program based in the small Alaskan town amid privacy concerns.
A reversal of the Postal Service move was announced Friday.
The letters will now be answered under tightened privacy rules implemented nationwide by the Postal Service in response to security concerns that arose in a similar program in Maryland last year.
